Privacy policy

CaddyCompass holds the minimum personal data needed to run a course-discovery and playing-partner service.

What we hold and why

• Account: your email address (sign-in), display name and optional avatar, the basics of having an account (contract).
• Golfer profile: handicap, home area, experience level and preferences you choose to add (contract).
• Tee-time posts and join requests: a contact number you provide when posting or requesting to join a round. Numbers are private by default and shared only between a host and a requester after the host accepts. Never published, never in emails (contract).
• Usage analytics: anonymous page statistics via Google Analytics, only with your consent via the cookie banner (consent). See the cookie policy.

Who processes it

Hosting and database run on Railway; transactional email (sign-in links, join-request notifications) is sent via Resend; optional analytics is Google Analytics. Each processes data on our instructions. Location search sends the postcode or town you type to postcodes.io, an open UK geocoding service, to find its coordinates; no account data or identifiers are included. Map views load tile images from CARTO's servers. Both services, like any web request, also receive standard request metadata (IP address, user agent).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Email privacy@caddycompass.com and we'll action it, including deleting your account together with its profile, posts and join requests.
